Lately, Journey has been sharing her dream of becoming a firefighter so she can help save people. She often sings the "Get Out, Stay Out" fire safety song at home and talks enthusiastically about her desire to help others. I was very surprised to hear her so passionately share this dream with me. It’s amazing to see her developing such a strong sense of purpose and compassion at just four years old. I truly appreciate that she’s in an environment where this trait is nurtured and encouraged.

It means the world to know that her teachers are supporting her curiosity and helping her explore the possibilities the world has to offer. Their dedication and alofa have such a meaningful impact, and I truly appreciate the role they all play in shaping her early experiences.

"Our daughter started at Happy Learning when she was 2 years and went there for 2.5 years. The team there has always been amazing and supportive. "I am so sad to say that the kids and I are going to live at my nanas out in Mellons Bay so the commute is going to be too difficult to keep them in until we leave. I just wanted to say that this is the absolute best centre I have ever been to. Hunter has been to 3 others but the culture, understanding and support you all provide is amazing. Being able to leave the kids and walk away everyday knowing that they are in good hands is a great feeling so thank you all for taking such great care of my babies. They absolutely adore you guys so this will be a very hard goodbye!"

"Adults providing education and care engage in meaningful, positive interactions to enhance children’s learning and nurture reciprocal relationships.

The service’s curriculum is consistent with Te Whāriki, the early childhood curriculum. It is inclusive, and responsive to children as confident and competent learners. Children’s preferences are respected. The curriculum respects and supports the right of each child to be confident in their own culture, and encourages children to understand and respect other cultures.

The curriculum is language rich and acknowledges the unique place of Māori as tangata whenua. Children have opportunities to develop knowledge and an understanding of the cultural heritages of both parties to Te Tiriti o Waitangi."
